Fall Fashion

I had planned on writing and documenting my travels when I left just a year ago for my travels to South East Asia – I set out with my camera, my phone and of course, a wonderful book to write all of my thoughts and travel fun along the way. But here’s the thing. While I documented all of it, I was consumed by life and thoroughly enjoyed each and every moment of living the experiences while there.

My plan is to review my thoughts, and provide you all with a snapshot of my highlights of the course of the next few months.

But first, let me post a fall fashion outfit.

What I am Wearing:
Shoes: Tory Burch
Jeans: Jeggings (Garage Clothing)
Shirt: Dynamite
Blazer: H&M
Bangle: COACH

North & Navy

As with most things in life, every one needs a bit of balance, sometimes an outright hiatus, even if its from things we love. I've been stepping back from blogging lately not because I don't love this art form, but because life sometimes takes over and a choice has to be made on whether I'll get in that late run, or sit in front of the computer.

But the reality is, that I have trully missed this. I'd like to promise that I will be blogging more frequently, but I would rather not make false promises. This is on my mind and my goal is to start slow with at least another post this month.
I do have some exciting news and I know that I will be bringing you a different side to the blog, that hasn't been featured before. I am taking three months off to explore South East Asia. Can't wait to start bringing you posts on what to pack, what to leave behind, and my adventures on the road. One thing I know for sure, these mint green heels won't be making the cut.
I hope you all are enjoying your summer!

Too Much of a Good Thing

Oftentimes I look back at outfit posts and wonder...why? Just like everyone else I am prone to making some fashion blunders along the way. This outfit was it for me. Too. Much. Purple. Don;t even get me started on the blazer. Some days, we can hit it right on the nose...other times, it can be too much of a good thing.

Stripes & Solids Take 2

Every once in a while, I have an inspiration block (i.e. when "winter is coming"). The last few months have been no exception. I've been on permanent defrost since mid-October. Though I have some great holiday inspired outfits, I needed to "feel" warm again. Enter fall throwback. I took these pictures back in October and finally felt a calling to post them, I mean how cute is that elephant necklace?

Heatwave

Summer is finally here. I mean FINALLY here – albeit its August. It’s hot days and equally warm nights, with heat just dissipated from tarmac, bricks and surrounding objects. Everything is warm to the touch; sun-kissed. I absolutely love how the pictures turned out. Slightly blurred, as if the camera itself was sweating.Soaking in every last drop of sunshine possible and holding out for an extended heatwave.

What I am Wearing:
Dress: Zara
Heels: Nine West
Necklace: Gifted (from Turkey)
Bangles: COACH

Segue

After a much long hiatus, I am back and ready to devote some much needed time to this blog. I love it dearly and it has been a source of happiness, a place for contemplation, and venue for my thoughts and ideas. My hiatus from The Fine Balance was not planned, though a much needed reprieve. Many things have transpired over the last little while, and I knew I would not have been able to fully devote to my writing and quality pictures and posts if I had continued. I feel refreshed and ready to get back into it and bring you all aspects this space is supposed to offer – Fashion, Fitness and Food related posts.

I hope I can count on all of you to continue with me on my journey.

What I am wearing:
Polka Dot Skirt: Banana Republic Factory

Fall Favourites: The Classic Trench Coat

The best the thing about fall are those crisp days, just a few degrees shy of when you know you’ll be seeing your breath in the air, the clear blue skies, and the earth scattered with colours of yellow, red and orange leaves crunching between each step.

October in O-Town has been stunning. It’s a bittersweet reminder of what’s coming (ugh cold, ugh snow). But on a day when the sun is shining and the weather is sweet, it’s the furthest thing from my mind. Im just relishing in my fall favourites.

PS: shout out my photographer Kat, who did an excellent job shooting these pictures with my iPhone. She captured just what I wanted with this spectacular fall day.

What I am Wearing:
Trench coat: Mackage
Shoes: Anne Klein (Town Shoes)
Purse: COACH (Sophie in embossed Croc leather)
Skirt: Ann Taylor (LOFT)

What are your fall favourites?

Hostess Hospitality

Earlier this summer, I hosted get-together with some fashionable ladies who I work with. Given the audience (both here and at the party), I thought it may be a great way to take the “hostess” look to another level, and what better way to do it than with a little 50’s flair. I mean when else am I going to be able to prance around in mint heels, sky high buns, and pouffe skirt!?

Although the pictures came out lightly out of focus I love them and had to share.

What do you do hostessing? What's your favourite part?
