Lace, Lilac and Ladders

It's mid week and already I feel I have done more than I normally do in 7 days. One of my biggest accomplishments was writing. Yes I write here on this blog and post. But I went back to my roots. Journaling with a pen and paper. AND. I wrote a letter. This letter was a goodbye of sorts. To someone who made an impact in my life and I have to say, it took me a VERY long time to let go. It was as if I had physically, emotionally and mentally turned a new leaf.

And then the greatest thing happened. The next after writing this letter, I woke up (on the right side of the bed ;p), and everything was as it was supposed to be. Calm. Centred. Right.

And so of course the day goes wonderfully as well. I work in an area that is absolutely wonderful places to take photos. Kat and I have been experimenting with different backdrops and we've been running into some excellent photo op locations. Its as if it was MEANT to be! I felt the ladder was so symbolic of where I am and where I am going. On to bigger things, and climbing to new heights.

Third Times a Charm

This past summer I had the wonderful opportunity of attending a wedding for one of my friends. One thing about Indian weddings are the multiple events and of course outfit changes!

Celebrating love and making it into a three day party is the only way to do it ;)

One of the things I love the most about Indian clothing are the vibrant colours, patterns and rich fabrics.

This outfit was borrowed from Auntie B

Beautiful jewelry to complete the look
And no wedding is complete without Mehndi (Henna).

With summer coming to an end I just had to share this. Lots of love to you all :)

Happiness

It's waaayyyy past my bedtime. 11:03 PM and seem a bit wired but I MUST wake up early tomorrow morning for cardio. I recently told you all about my new beginnings. I made it through week one yay. But this week has been a week of trying everything new. I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and doing things that make me well. UNCOMFORTABLE and it's scary.

I've talked about comfort zones before, but I am now looking at every opportunity with fresh eyes. One lesson that I have learned and taken as my new outlook is "Life is to short to do something that makes you unhappy".

I'm the happiest when I am training, when I am pushing my body doing something completely out of its "element". The same goes go my mental, spiritual and emotional states. It's time to do things that make me happy and weed out the things that make me unhappy.  And though some new beginnings and situations can push and test you, they can be the most rewarding thing you can do for yourself.

What I am wearing:
Skirt: BCBG
Top: F21 (Dubai 2006)
Shoes: DKNYC
Pearls: Simons (Montreal Chain store)
What are you going to do to make you happy? if there is something that makes you unhappy, what are you going to do to change it?

Purely Simple

So its been a few weeks since I met with TRAINER and let me tell you the work out was great the conversation was great and I am so torn! I don't know what to do. I could continue to kill myself a work as much as I do. Or, I could step up, be a woman and recognize that there are other resources available to me and that I will have to make more of a concerted effort in my workouts. The answer seems purely simple right?

No its not! I sort have been gauging myself and my workouts and well they're no where near as much as I can do when someone is watching.

Ugh….I hate making decisions.

What I am Wearing
Blazer - Zara (I spent al ittle more than I normally do but I always buy classic pieces that I know I will have forever. I kid you not)
Jeggings - Seven Jeans
Shoes - The Bay (Expressions)
Watch - Coach
Rings - F21
Lace Tank  - Aritzia

What do you do when you're faced with a "simple" decision? Because let's face it, they tend to be more complicated than we think!

Back to Black

Sometimes, nothing makes me feel better than wearing black.

I mean it. You can do so much with it and I feel you can never go wrong with something classic. This dress reminds me a little of the Mad Men era - like my post on Full Skirts.

As you know I started a new nutrition plan on Monday and Its now day three and already I'm off. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT? I thought I was pretty good with my macros (i.e. my food intake), but clearly I have some work to do.  And making me accountable for what I put in my body and consume and more aware. Before I just guestimated my intake - now I realise much I UNDERestimated haha.

I have been thinking as well about what would make me less stressed and right now I am worried about the financial constraints of continuing my training with TRAINER. I have a few sessions left and then I will have to reasses. I would love to continue but I have had to take on a second job and so I don’t have my weekends or nights. It would be nice to have those back! But the workouts with my trainer have been and is such an important component of my life. At the same time I've been thinking about joining with Perfect Peaking and doing the whole package nutrition and workout plans which I KNOW will work, but I am worried about not having someone physically there to push me. A lot of things to think about and decisions to be made in the next little while. Yikes!

What I am wearing:
Dress: Zara (I bought this in Dubai in 2006)
Necklace: (I bought two of the same necklace in Kensington Market in Toronto and linked them together for a whopping total of $10 dollars)
Watch: Coach
Ring: Borrowed
Shoes: Expressions the Bay

Do you have a go-to colour that makes you feel fabulous? How do you cope with stress?

Blue Beginnings and Perfect Peaking

It was C. O. L. D. this morning

It was a brisk walk to the bus and then another few minus of hanging out doing the "Warm up" dance  you know what I mean..the shuffling of feet the little bit of pacing and the crossing of your arms again your chest to keep the cold air from making you shiver.

I had something to keep me company, - the New Jay Z and Kanye West CD Watch the Throne - So far AMAZING! I was willing to be outside a little bit longer if only I could listen to one more track! It’s a really great collaboration.

With the air changing so has my attitude on how I am going to tackle the next year of my life, do another competition and maintain some sort of semblance to eating and maintaining a healthy balance. In comes the dream team I have been DYING to work with! After hearing the great successes of my friends BikiniorBust and Ihearteggs, it was a no brainier! I wanted, no I NEEDED to be apart of this. After being fairly lax with my diet, I've started a new program that lets me be the master of what I eat. I.e. Clean eating but I wont have to eat a lot of fish or for every meal. It just means I need to staying within my macros.

So PERFECT PEAKING is now apart of my daily interactions - I have a feeling I am going to get to know Dr. Joe, Sean and Kori very intimately over the next year and I can't tell you how excited I am to work with them. We already have a goal in mind and a plan in place! I am so impressed with their professionalism but also the way that they maintain constant contact with you. I mean my emails are answered almost immediately! Not only that their enthusiasm is contagious. I am so happy with this.

The hardest part will be to track my food DAILY but I am already doing well for day one…Can't wait to keep you posted on my progress!

And yes some of these pictures may look ridiculous but I Was feeling giddy and the Yellow door made me happy.

This is my ridiculous picture of the day ;)

Jewellery: Necklace - Coach
                  Rings - Coach
                  Bangles - Borrowed

Je t'aime mes amis…a bientot - Here's to blue beginnings and perfect peaking :)

Taste of the Danforth

On August 6 and 7, I headed home to Tdot to be with my family and of course to take in the Taste of the Danforth. Its a great street festival celebrating Greek Town and all that it has to offer. Taste of the Danforth is a yearly festival held in Toronto, in the Greektown area along Danforth Avenue for a period of three days in August, spawned from the Taste of Chicago in Chicago, IllinoisUnited States. Started in 1994, it celebrates Greek food and culture every second weekend in August.
This street Festival is one of my favourites to attend - and I sort of don't have a choice - my parents have a store on the Danforth but I look forward to the mayhem each and every year!

Not to mention all the great treats and eats - I just looked at these :)
There was some Greek Yogurt available to try....

Fresh Corn on the Cob
Roasted Yams, Watermelon the size of your face...I kid you not....
But this is what I look forward to...the big Carrot....Its this amazing natural food market with organic treats, eats, and goodies. I walked out with two grocery bags full :)

Have you attended a street festival this summer?
