Seeing Red

It's hump day (middle of the week), and well, I woke up feeling ready to take on the world.

You all know my woes with the scale but I decided to claim some of that power back…and what better way to do that then to wear red and feel ferocious. Ok I don’t  feel ferocious but I do feel confident, and, a wise woman (aka my posing instructor aka one of the most amazing women I know aka I am honestly blessed to have her in my life) told me that confidence is sexy and with confidence, you attract more of the same people in your life. ISN'T SHE SMART!?

I mean why is it that I don’t feel like the confident woman I can portray in my pictures? I want to be her and mostly, I am working on changing the attitude within me. So no more woe is me…(please smack me if I do), but more Whoa that's me! :)

That was my epiphany/AHA moment.
note to self: REMOVE pink nail polish....lol

What I am wearing:
 Dress: Max and Cleo
Shoes: DKNYC (I wear these like I have no other pair of heels but gosh they are so comfy)
Sweater: Jacob
Necklace: NYC Street Shopping
Lipstick: MAC RED

Have you had an AHA moment lately?

  2. Ooh love the dress!
And if I had the money those pieces would be worth it ;) But since that one outfit would be my rent for the whole year its not.  I'm posting a Dress for Less version of it tomorrow, but nots not as good XD :D

  3. So what you're saying is your love is like whoa? Aww have you seen Mya lately? Her thighs are thick! But her waist is still thin. Crazy. I havent had any aha moments lately, except to stop dressing in weird costumes and try to dress a little more normal haha. I need a vacation. Going to Vegas next week. You look great Nini, post or pre competition, you're the same ole G. Ok enough R&B for me.

  4. Gorgeous dress! It makes me think of what an abstract artist might paint when inspired by a tiger print. I love the picture of you holding your necklace and the one right after. They turned out terrific. And the woe-is-me/whoa-is-me comment made me laugh. Great post.

  5. I love how you are trying to improve your blues with positive thinking! I think you look fantastic, but the positive mental state is also very attractive! Good for you for working on your inside and outside!

  6. I totally agree - Confidence is everything.  If you are confident in yourself, then you can accomplish anything you want.  Positive thinking is probably one of the most difficult but most rewarding things to master, and it seems like you have a great handle on it. :)

  12. You're gorgeous girl but I completely get the not feeling the whole not feeling how we look on the outside on the inside (good grief that wasn't a very coherent sentence!) I actually love the pink nail polish- maybe not with the dress but it's still adorable!

  13. Holy, I loooove that dress! You look smoking hot but in a totally classy and elegant way :)  We all have our days and I used to have such low self esteem.  I honestly can't tell you what turned it around.  I just started doing things that I loved and enjoyed and when you realize you're great at something and actually have fun doing it, it just shines through!  You're probably just getting closer to finding your way ;)

  15. I like the shoes and pearls but not so much this dress. I don't like red, so maybe it's the color.

  23. I like your dress, I think is really cute and interesting. I think you would rock it with a maxi cardigan.

  24. I feel the same way about confidence. From my blog, etc you would think I'm the most self-confident person there is in the world...but I'm the exact opposite!! Haha. KEEP IT! It's so cute. I might get it taken in a little on the bottom, looks a tad big, but it's an amazing dress!

  27. “As is our confidence, so is our capacity” building our self confidence is something we all struggle with at some point in our lives, one can be confident when dealing with certain type of situations and completely clueless with facing others.

You just have to try and find the right balance or simply keep working on it.

It won’t happened overnight, then again the journey is the beauty of it

  28. It’s absolutely true. It's learning how to be happy and confident in whatever stage you are…its hard though when you see your body rebounding. But I have to say its been fairly good with me. I know many other women who have put on 30 pounds or more post competition. And Always right on the money….definitely trying to find the balance in all aspects of my life.
