Heatwave

Summer is finally here. I mean FINALLY here – albeit its August. It’s hot days and equally warm nights, with heat just dissipated from tarmac, bricks and surrounding objects. Everything is warm to the touch; sun-kissed. I absolutely love how the pictures turned out. Slightly blurred, as if the camera itself was sweating.Soaking in every last drop of sunshine possible and holding out for an extended heatwave.

What I am Wearing:
Dress: Zara

Snow Bunny

This past Saturday, on a blistering cold day, Kat from a Second Glance and I decided to venture out and take some pictures of our snow gear. When I say cold I mean -30 Celsius! For my American friends, that’s -22F. Normally I balk at the very thought of being outdoors, let alone agreeing to being outside willingly, but a decision had been made to get together and so we did (Kat I must like you a lot ;)).

Though cold, it was a bright and beautiful day. Kat and I took turns taking each others photos between running back to the car to warm up. It was definitely a day for a warm mug of hot cocoa that’s for sure.

Happiness

It's waaayyyy past my bedtime. 11:03 PM and seem a bit wired but I MUST wake up early tomorrow morning for cardio. I recently told you all about my new beginnings. I made it through week one yay. But this week has been a week of trying everything new. I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and doing things that make me well. UNCOMFORTABLE and it's scary.

I've talked about comfort zones before, but I am now looking at every opportunity with fresh eyes. One lesson that I have learned and taken as my new outlook is "Life is to short to do something that makes you unhappy".

I'm the happiest when I am training, when I am pushing my body doing something completely out of its "element". The same goes go my mental, spiritual and emotional states. It's time to do things that make me happy and weed out the things that make me unhappy.  And though some new beginnings and situations can push and test you, they can be the most rewarding thing you can do for yourself.

What I am wearing:
Skirt: BCBG

Canada Post - Delivering a Bucketful of Gratitude

If there's one thing I would like to say to all of you faithful readers out there is THANK YOU! Thank you for your faith in my abilities for keeping me on point and on track in this last leg of journey #1 as a figure competitor.

I am so lucky, to have readers like you. I am less than two weeks from show date and I WILL get on the stage. Not going to lie, I am freaking out slightly, but so happy to have all of your support behind me. Though I may not be at the level of some of the other fabulous women there, I will be the best version of myself to date, and that's something I HAVE to be proud of and AM proud of.

Two weeks today, I will be celebrating my victory with a brunch! Yup! If you ask me what my favourite food group is, its brunch. The next 13 days will be on point until I can enjoy some fabulous french toast, eggs (with yolk!) fruit (I plan on being in a fruit coma - bring on the cherries, peaches, watermelon and grapes), oatmeal made with milk (mmmm delish), cupcakes, a celebratory mimosa and amazing group of friends to share it all with.

Can't wait to toast with all of you as well, my fellow online friends...Sending lots of love and positive energy back to you as you have done for me.

And....onto the outfit....Another Dress borrowed from Aunty R....Here is our little deal. I take her clothes, get them altered, wear a few times and give back. For me its like having a wardrobe on consignment. and it keeps things in BOTH of our closets rotating (though I have to say I get a much better bargain than she does ;P)

What I am Wearing
Dress: Borrowed from Aunty R (Bought at the Bay on Sale and it sat in her closet for a good 2 years because it was too big!)

Well Friends

After my meltdown the other day, Today I was on track! chicken and asparagus day whoo baby! I had a great day. No cheating the diet I ate this for every meal and then halfway through the afternoon my eye began to seriously, I MEAN SERIOUSLY bother me. There was something in it but I couldn't see it. I could definitely FEEL it.

I managed to get an appointment with the Optometrist 60 dollars later to find out that there WAS something in my eye...in fact two super thin hair like things in my  which had to be removed....it was not cool. Wearing a patch now too for the rest of the night so I dont scratch my eye. and ensure that my eyes continue to heal from laser. The eye IS SUUUUUPPPERRR sore and sensitive but luckily it should be ok by tomorrow. Just have to stop straining my eyes and get off the computer.

THANK YOU ALL for your words of encouragement. I cannot wait to continue my good eating habits tommr...OK I lied I had a table spoon and a half of sugar free jam and three stale crackers that I saw in my cupboard...they weren't the tastiest but i really really needed a bit of carbs : (

I will be on track tomorrow for sure.

Anyways here are some pictures to keep everyone happy haha
