Lady in Red

Fitness Prep has taught me a lot about myself. For one, I alone hold the key to success in whatever I do - Whether it's training, my job, life, family etc.

Learning how to control yourself, your thoughts emotions, and outlook are factors. I have learned that I HAVE CONTROL. That I can say no. That its ok to say no and still be polite.

I am constantly looking for the silver lining, to help me get through. I find that usually around 2 PM though I hit a lull....its the ebbs and flows of hormones, eating only white fish and knowing that the next two to three meals will be more of the same ;)

In my last post I wrote 4 weeks, but I meant to say 3 weeks (I have since corrected that error). As of today I am 18 days away...wow! Does that even seem possible?

So today my inspiration is THE SUIT.  This is the suit I will be wearing for the SAF Competition - the AM show. I am so happy with the colour! Just what I needed to get through the rest of the day to stay on track, and eat the fish!

And to top things off a bit more, Thought I would post an outfit I wore to work on one of our warmer days :) Notice the theme?

What I am Wearing
Dress: FCUK
Shoes: BGBG Girls
Necklace: Aldo
Belt: Costa Blanca

What inspires you? How do you get through your "moment(s)" of weakness?

  5. "The suit" are beautiful and I love that it is in red. It will attract the eye of people.
I can relate regarding the factor of being in control. I too have learned that and it makes me feel happy and content. Knowing I have the control over food especially and my fitness.

  12. Oh yea, I also wanted to tell you that post contest weight gain is up to you. My trainer suggested that I don't gain anymore than I have because I'm going to have to lose it and then some for my next show. The less fat I gain the better off I am. Also if you gain to much weight to fast post contest you can mess up your metabolism. Not a good thing at all! So make sure you have a plan in place. The day after the show we ate whatever we wanted anytime of the day (but felt so sick most of the day lol to much sugar!!!). The next day we were back to clean food. I did have a dessert everyday but really kept the rest of my meals clean. At this point we are allowed a "cheat day" every week till its time for prep. There is no off season!!!!! XOXO

  16. The color of the suit is gorgeous.  I love the blingy details.  You are going to rock the competition!!!  I can't wait to hear all about it.
In my moments of weakness, I always look for the positives.  I'm not a very sunshine-y person.  Obviously, I have my edge.  But I always try to be on the positive side of things. I think that a positive attitude can make a world of difference.

  19. The nervousness is totally normal!  And honestly, you'll see most of the change in the 2 weeks prior when you cut water/carbs/etc.. and then load again.
Its truly amazing, and its hard as hell! But you'll have a blast, I promise!
Off season and for the beginning of contest prep I chew A LOT of gum, but when I have to give it up (usually 3 or 4 weeks out), I rinse my mouth with listerine when I get a craving! The minty sensation curbs the craving a bit.

Hope that helps! And no worries, I ask lots of questions too!!
    =)

  26. You are too cute! And don't worry - you'll do great! Especially with a trainer and a nutritionist!! I'm jealous - I never got one of those :(
A protein shake is good if you're starving, but whole food is better - it takes more effort to digest food than liquid.  And I know, you probably HATE fish right now, but nothing beats it!Try EXTRA lean ground turkey if you really need something different, its kind of bland, but at least its not fish!

  31. that suit is all kinds of fabulous! It's gonna look so fab on you! xo

  32. UM that suit is going to look insane on you.  I am IN LOVE with it!  I love red, especially for summer.  It's so pretty and looks so amazing with gold sandals and jewellery (especially all that beautiful stuff from India that you have).

As for Fresh, there will never be a hiatus.  We have been going steady for at least 3 years ;)  I can't wait to get hungover on veggies with you!  The Kathmandu wrap is like a chickpea and veggie stew with a slight curry taste and there are also some raw veggies and tahini sauce in there!  It is so good, I could eat it every day!

You can get TOMS at tons of places.  Stone Ridge, Capezio, Little Burgundy, and Over The Rainbow has them here.  They aren't expensive either.  They range from like $55-$70 depending on the material (they have sparkly ones!).

As for your question - people like you inspire me.  It takes so much commitment to do what you do and I think it is so amazing.  In the fitness industry I really look up to Jamie Eason.  She is such a true person and so good at what she does.  I'm sorta obsessed with her.  If I have a moment of weakness, which happens often (especially when there is chocolate around), I just make a plan for the next day.  I try not to get down about it.  I will just go extra hard the next few days and be a little more diligent when it comes to my meals!

Keep on keeping on, girl!!!  Less than 3 weeks to go!

    xoxo

  33. You look fabulous in red, love how elegant you look in that color! :)

Bak Kwa has a texture like beef jerky but its made from barbequing minced or sliced pork over a grill to give it it's unique smoky taste.
