Feeling Green

Ok People

Home stretch....HOME STRETCH?! ALREADY?! Had my progress pictures in the SUIT and I have to say I was happy. I like the way I looked from the front and side (as my nutritionist concurred) but he also mentioned to me that the back/butt area didn't look so hot....
So, now what? Do I still go ahead and compete? I WANT TO I really do... Even though technically I know I wont look as great at the other women? What do I do? I know I still have 2 weeks, but will that be enough? I am feeling a bit sick - to my stomach that is. :S Maybe a bit GREEN to be exact! I am going to give the last leg my all. Closer to competition date I will make my decision...

Going with the green theme, a while back I decided to make Kale chips. In theory a great idea. In reality - well t o me it tasted like dirt. And yes I did wash the kale thoroughly and I seasoned as well I could (lemon salt and pepper and paprika)....They looked great, but tasted awful. Any tips from my fellow Kale Chip makers?

That's my Sea salt you see on the cookie sheet.....
Going with my Green Theme, Time for my Outfit....Wore this a few weeks back - I haven't taken pictures recently but Let me know what you think!

  1. Ahhh I LOVE that dress, at first I thought it was a skirt and a top but it's a dress, so cute! It fits you really well by the way, can't believe it's borrowed!

I never succeed at kale chips!  If you buy them though they are delicious (but also $7 a bag!).

Please don't re-think competing!  You have come SO far and worked WAY too hard to quit last minute.  Who cares what the other girls look like.  This is a personal accomplishment and a HUGE milestone for you.  This training has changed you as a person and has taught you more about what you love to do.  I say go for it girl.  Wear that suit proud and strong and think about no one else but yourself.  I look up to you for getting this far.  DO NOT disappoint yourself by backing out.  You will regret it!

  3. I agree... don't back out now! You'll be a winner just by getting up on that stage and competing and you'll be so disappointed in yourself if you don't. Just go ahead and give it your best and know that we, your regular readers are behind you all the way. Besides, that suit is just too gorgeous not to be shown off!

  9. First, I LOVE that dress!  It looks amazing on you!  Will you ask your Aunt if I can borrow it? ;)

Second, GO FOR IT!  You have worked so hard.  Forget what the other girls look like.  Get up on that stage and own it!  To me, the first one is about the journey and the experience of getting up on stage.  Of course, winning would be awesome, but just knowing you did what so many will never have the guts to do...that's a win in my book!

I'm rooting for you!  Enjoy the next two weeks!

I've never tried baking Kale.  I have seen it on a few blogs lately though and finding it interesting.

I love the pattern on your dress.  And your flats are adorable.

  15. I agree with the others. The journey IS the destination. You've worked hard. Don't let fear stop you from stepping across the finish line. Only you can decide if you're ready, but don't make that decision out of fear or disappointment. You've done an amazing job, and you've inspired so many with your journey. We're all cheering for you!

  18. Yes, definitely DO NOT back out! You gotta get your in-shape butt up on that stage!!

As for kale, this is what I do:
Make sure you put the kale in a single layer on the baking sheet. Spray the baking sheet without and with the kale on it. I personally tried lemon on my kale and didn't like the flavor, so try it with just sea salt...you may find you like this better. Also, I over-bake mine oh-so-slightly :)

  19. I say compete!! :) You can always compete again if you want to. You have given it everything and this is a fabulous chapter in your life story. I agree with Elaine, that suit is awesome! And you never know what will happen on comp day or what the judges are looking for. Its a whole package deal - no one else has your personality or panache. Bring it all and see what happens! :) Tons of love!
