Red, Black & Gold all Over

I personally don't thrive on cold, but one of my favourite things about the colder season is outerwear.
If I could have it hover just above the freezing mark, I would probably be the happiest person in the world. It's cold enough for those wool jackets, but not cold enough for me to throw fashion out the window for the sake of being warm.

My favourite item has to be the black scarf with gold specs that I received as a gift many years ago. Its not just the scarf but the sentimental value that is holds.

You may be wondering why am talking about the scarf so much. Sadly, about a week after these photos were taken, the scarf was stolen....from my desk at work. :(

It was a very sad Friday afternoon when I discovered it was missing as I was getting ready to home. I'll admit I did cry on the bus ride home and people may have thought I had lost my marbles, but in that moment I needed to grieve for something that had brought me much joy. I am sad that someone I work with felt the need to swipe the item, I have to hope that the new owner will take care of it as much as I did.

I will however take that person out if I ever see them in the halls wearing it....I kid....not...

My favourite scarf...le sigh....

Jacket: Old Navy
Scarf: Gifted

Has something you liked intensely gone missing from work?

  2. Wow, that sucks! There are only two other people in my office, so I think I'd be able to find out if anyone stole from me pretty easily. I love your jacket!

  6. I'm totally with you on winter outwear. I'm obsessed with coats and scarves but don't get the chance to wear them that much here in Houston! I love that scarf!

  7. I can't believe that someone stole your scarf from your desk at work! I've heard of things like that happening in offices, but I can't fathom being the type of person who would actually do it. So sorry to hear you were a victim, and that you lost such a beautiful, sentimental piece, too :( It had one last truly beautiful moment in these photos, though. It looks absolutely phenomenal with your red coat!

  9. Scarf thievery at work? That's the craziest thing I've ever heard. The worst ive heard is someone eating someone elses food from the fridge. They'll get what's coming to them. I say you put up posters saying "have u seen me?" with these very pics. Say it was last seen on your desk and the reward is karma. Tell them they can anonymously return it to you. This is my plan.

  10. I am so sorry for your loss. :( I hate losing things that hold such value for me.  A few years ago, I lost my absolute favorite bracelet of all time, and I am pretty sure that I am still not over it.  Every once in a while, I think, "Gee, that bracelet would look awesome with this outfit." But for someone to actually steal a scarf --- That's sick.

  11. I'm so sorry about the scarf, particularly as it meant so much to you. I still don't know what would possess someone to do something like that and I'm sorry you had to be on the receiving end. Nevertheless, you look wonderful in both the coat and scarf. I especially like your pose in second-last photo - you look like a glamorous celeb keeping her head down from the paparazzi!

  13. Gorgeous red trench! Really need to invest in a trench coat myself! Thanks for your compliment on my blog, babe! I'm glad I come off as poised (and not crazed) as I'm usually  running back and forth in time for the camera timer while looking out for traffic :)

  14. What the heck?!  Who does that?!  I'm sorry to hear about your scarf!  Some people are just so weird.  A scarf, out of all things to steal.  Seriously.  You look beautiful in these photos (and also the ones from your last post)!

  20. Seriously, what on earth were they thinking? That's just ridiculous of them. I hope that they just "borrowed" it thinking you wouldn't mind and that you will find it mysteriously left on your desk or in a drawer of your desk soon. It's a lovely scarf and I hope you get it back soon.

I'm also a fan of the colder weather just because of the ability to wear cold weather gear. It was something I always wanted to do but since I lived in a much warmer climate where winter was literally 2 weeks of the year so winter clothing wasn't a huge component to my wardrobe growing up. Now that I live somewhere colder, I'm really enjoying digging into cold weather fashion and figuring out how to stay warm and not look too ridiculous (which seems almost impossible sometimes.) You and your friend were truly brave going out in the snow in that temp.
